Als er in Nederland één persoon is die uit naam van onze reeds kwakkelende economie en resterende zware industrie op non-actief kan, is dat volgens mij Maas Goote. Goote is de hier reeds eerder besproken klimaatkosmopoliet van D66 die -klimaatconferentiehoppend- airmiles spaart als ministerieel (ELI) detaché voor de EU-delegatie.

Voor ineffectief duur CO2-symboolbeleid zonder temperatuureffect, dat onze industrie opzadelt met torenhoge kosten (hogere prijs emissierechten), zodat ze verhuizen naar landen zonder het genre Maas Goote als India en China: landen die wekelijks een kolencentrale bijbouwen.

Europolitics: rest van wereld wil niet mee met EU-klimaatambities, tenzij extra geld komt
In Bangkok werd de in Kopenhagen/Durban afgesproken agenda verder door de EU gepusht als een ‘Green CLimate Fund’ van 100 miljard dollar Westers publiek geld per jaar, zo bericht Europolitics, het huisblad van de Europese Commissie. Japan en Rusland willen geen opvolger van Kyoto, Canada en VS al evenmin om van China te zwijgen. Alleen de EU blijft doordenderen op de klimaattrein, met onze Maas als co-machinist.

Maas zat 19 augustus bij de Kiwi’s in Nieuw Zeeland om voor 20’sleutellanden’ strengere kostenverhogingen/CO2-reductiedoelen op de agenda te krijgen voor de opvolger van het Kyotoprotocol. Nu zit hij alweer in Bangkok, en straks verkast onze Maas naar oliestaat Quatar: thuisbasis van alweer de 18de VN-klimaatconferentie die voortvloeit uit het UNFCCC-klimaatakkoord dat in Rio in 1992 werd opgetekend.

Tata waarschuwt: EU-alleingang slecht voor Europese industrie én mondiale milieu
Krijgen Goote en collegae-klimaatactivisten/onderhandelaars hun zin? Dan zit er voor onze resterende industrie- motor van technische innovatie- zoals Tata Steel in IJmuiden niets anders op dan te verkassen. Metallurgisch ingenieur en bestuurder van Tata dr.ir. Karl Ulrich Kohler laat er in de nieuwste Ingenieur alvast geen gras over groeien; IJmuiden is één van ’s werelds meest hoogwaardige technische bedrijven en de belangrijkste productiefaciliteit met 7 miljoen ton.

Het bedrijf werkt- zoals de Nederlandse chemiesector ook al decennia deed- aan verbetering van efficientie, veiligheid: kortom, duurzaamheid en blijft dat doen. Maar zoals Kohler al waarschuwt, is de Europese alleingang slecht voor industrie en mondiaal milieu:

Ik steun het concept van duurzaamheid, zuinig met grondstoffen en doelmatig met energie. Maar klimaatbeleid kun je alleen mondiaal voeren. Als je dat lokaal doet door de industrie in Europa zo zwaar te belasten dat die verhuist naar Azie, maak je het probleem alleen maar groter omdat de staalindustrie in Europa aanzienlijk minder milieubelastend is dan in Azie

Wat staat op de agenda?
De klimaatalleingangsters als Goote en EU-hoofdonderhandelaar willen

  • – een klimaatfonds lospeuteren van 100 miljard dollar Westers publiek geld voor corrupte dictaturen rond de evenaar en NGO’s, zoals op papier beloofd in Kopenhagen. Dit fonds diende als worst om ontwikkelingslanden mee te krijgen.
  • – strengere emissie-eisen, de EU pleit tenminste voor 30- procent reductie van emissies in 2020, en percentages als 50 procent of meer in 2030 doen de ronde;
    – duurdere emissierechten voor bedrijven
  • – Meer publiek betaalde buffetten, conferenties met kaviaar, wijn en gewillige stagiares,onderhandelaars en delegaties van ministeries en NGO’s willen voortzetting van hun kosmopolitische leven (dat laatste punt is inofficieel) op publieke kosten

    Tensions were palpable at the opening of the final session of informal preparatory talks for the United Nations climate change conference, to be held in Doha, Qatar (UNFCCC-COP18, 26 November-7 December).

    The European Union, which is being represented at the preparatory talks in Bangkok by the Cypriot Presidency and the European Commission’s main negotiator, Artur-Runge Metzger, expects that the Durban platform for enhanced climate action (created to develop a new global climate agreement between now and 2015, to enter into force in 2020) will finally get to the heart of matters;

    the questions of renewing commitments to reducing greenhouse gas emissions/economic growth and employment under the Kyoto Protocol and the use of funds promised to developing countries will be central to the discussions.

    Since the opening of the Bangkok talks- which will continue until 5 September -around 50 of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable countries have called on richer countries wrestling with the Eurocrisis to set objectives for the reduction of emissions, and also to honour promises made in Copenhagen (2009) to fund corrupt dictators and Western NGO’s like WWF around the equator under the eufemism of a Green Climate Fund, and since reiterated in Cancun (2010) and in Durban (2011) to provide financial help for developing countries to adapt to and fight against the effects of climate change.

    “All parties need to have a very clear idea of how they will use the US$100 billion a year that have been promised between now and 2020,” emphasised the Executive Secretary of the climate conference, Christiana Figueres.

    In May, preparatory talks held in Bonn, Germany, resulted – albeit with some difficulty- in the establishment of a working programme for negotiation groups. The EU has stated its aims for the Bangkok talks: delegates must clarify ways of resolving remaining questions on the length of the new commitment period after 2012, the possibility of setting more ambitious goals for reducing emissions in order to achieve the objective of limiting the global temperature rise to 2°C, and rules and methods of applying them – in order that these can be finalised in Doha (a transition period until the new agreement,which will succeed the Kyoto Protocol,is reached).

    The EU also believes it is necessary to define the manner of concluding the working group on long-term cooperation.Finally, negotiators will also continue efforts to convince countries that have refused to commit to the Kyoto Protocol- such as the United States and Canada -to sign up. Japan and Russia have already announced that they will not commit for a second period.

    Nu kun je natuurlijk stellen: wat speelt die Rypke hier ‘op de persoon’.
    Maar dat vind ik een zwak argument. Deze persoon personificeert een bepaald beleid en instelling, dat de potentie heeft onze economie en welvaart te vernietigen, dat hij op zijn eigen site actief uitdraagt. De Volkskrant zou ook op een A4tje passen als ze niet meer over politici mochten schrijven, zoals over die blonde kuif: die toch aanmerkelijk minder schadelijk is. Mogen wij niet de vraag stellen, dat deze man uit zijn functie wordt ontheven, of laat ‘m zijn klimaatkosmopolitisme zelf financieren..
