Top Mann Nemesis: He’s Not a Fraud
By Paul Chesser
The person who was most instrumental in debunking Climategate scientist Michael Mann’s hockey stick chart, Steve McIntyre of Climate Audit, said last night that he did not believe his scientific misrepresentations rose to the level of fraud. At the Heartland Institute’s Fourth International Conference on Climate Change in Chicago, McIntyre delivered a compelling account of his adventures in trying to obtain temperature data and in successfully challenging Mann’s work, but then left much of the ballroom disappointed by letting Mann off the hook. My Heartland colleague Dan Miller recounts:

The point is that Mann probably was thinking that he helped the climate by telling that something disatrous was taking place.
For that rason no State Pen for Mann of Penn State.
The fact is, however, there that there are a lot of people like Mann, calling themselves scientist, who need to collect a salary for their families.
They behave like highschool teachers, not as scientists.
In The Netrerlands there are 55 of them writing to the government that they are not criminals, but on the scientific level they are,
Also the mafiosi in Italy they do it for their family.
Jan,
What you are saying here is outright slander and defamation.
It is one thing to disagree – hopefully on the basis of solid scientific arguments – but you are accusing a very specific group of people of criminal actions. If you have a case, go and see a prosecutor instead of posting here.
Also the bit about "Mann probably was thinking .." is inane. You can't possibly know what Mann was THINKING (ascribing some kind of motive to him), and besides it doesn't matter at all since only his actions count. He was shown to be NOT GUILTY of 'research misconduct'.
Again, you may disagree on facts or scientific interpretation, if so, please say so.
